Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering the office, our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family.  We will request you fill our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Next you will have a consultation with one of our 4 doctors to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for our doctors to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether our care will meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, the doctor will perform a customized, detailed examination testing your general medical condition (ie. blood pressure, heart rate, heart, lungs, etc.), reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

X-Ray Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.  Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify what is causing their problem.

Report of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, our doctor will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:

  1. What is my problem and can you help me?
  2. What do you recommend that I do to get better?
  3. How much is it going to cost?

After discussing with you your history and your goals, performing an examination and reviewing any x-rays or other tests, our doctor will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If our doctors believe we can help you, we will recommend treatment and a wellness program.

Our insurance department will then review your insurance benefits with you.  They will explain your insurance coverage and what you should expect to pay for your treatment.

Treatment

Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the appointment. This may include physical therapies and/or soft tissue therapies.  Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.  If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success.  Every body is unique and different and therefore everone requires a unique and customized wellness plan.  The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining  healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.

Sometimes, this adversely impacts their confidence and self-esteem. This is where a service called cryo contouring can be helpful. It is important to understand what this procedure is. At Advanced Physical Medicine of Yorkville, we are here to help everyone with their weight loss and fat freezing goals!

.

Cryo Contouring Can Be Used To Treat Stubborn Fat Cells

Cryo contouring can be used to target those stubborn pockets of fat that don’t seem to want to go away. Once people reach adult age, the number of fat cells they have is going to be relatively constant. These fat cells might change size from time to time; however, it can be hard to eliminate these stubborn pockets of cells. Even though people are dedicated to diet and exercise, these pockets just don’t seem to want to go away. The location of these pockets can vary in location from person to person. Everyone carries fat in different areas of their body.

With cryo contouring, a trained provider is going to use a technique called cryolipolysis to freeze away those fat cells. This treatment was under development for years. Now, this treatment is available to help people eliminate those last few pockets of fat. Fat freezing can lead to proven results.

How Does Cryo Contouring Work?

When someone comes to see us for cryo contouring, they are going to receive a non-invasive procedure that can remove pockets of fat. This means that the recovery process following cryo contouring is much shorter than for alternatives, such as liposuction. For example, people who receive cryo contouring are usually in and out in a matter of hours. People can even go back to their daily routines almost immediately. For this reason, cryo contouring has skyrocketed in popularity. Now, cryo contouring is more accessible than it has been in the past.
