Stabilization is key to longevity

As you body continues to heal, the joints, muscles and ligaments will need stability.  By re-training your muscles, your joints will move in the correct pattern to help prevent your pain and suffering from returning.  The stabilization phase of your treatment is usually 1-2 times per week for 4-6 weeks.  Our doctors and therapists will be giving you home exercises to be completed.  This will help speed up your recovery.  Sometimes patients will ask why they need to continue with this stage if they are feeling better.  Remember that pain is a poor indicator of your health status.  Your injured tissues take a long time to actually heal.  A simple sprain to a muscle/ligament takes 8-12 months to fully heal.
